Whether it’s a high-stakes betrayal in a romance, a forbidden shortcut in a dystopian game, or the quiet moral decay of a white-collar crime, we want to see how your characters break the rules.
Write a story centered on the theme of “Cheating.”
Don’t just show the act—show the consequences, the justification, and the moment the truth unravels. From academic scandals to broken vows and rigged systems, push the boundaries of integrity and see what happens when the “right way” isn’t enough.
The prompt does not have to be quoted directly, but your story should refer to the prompt in some way, directly or indirectly.

Voice Contest Guidelines
Prize: $25 Amazon Gift Card
- One story per person - 350 Words Max Limit
- Fiction only - no poems, memoirs, nonfiction or essays
- Minimum of 10 shortlisted submissions to award a prize
- Maximum of 40 shortlisted entries per contest
- The list of finalists will be created after the entry deadline has passed
- The finalist list will include the stories with the highest number of views on YouTube, based on the total number of entries
- The finalist list will also include stories selected by staff
- Winners will be selected from the finalist list by all members via an email voting poll
- First, second and third place winners will be displayed with corresponding blue, red and white ribbons
- Only the first place winner will be awarded an Amazon gift certificate
